OEG are looking for Offshore Authorised Technicians capable of leading routine maintenance, executing troubleshooting activities with guidance, and supporting component exchanges as required on Vestas offshore wind turbines to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operations, maximising turbine availability. The role involves collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams, mentoring junior technicians, and upholding strict health, safety, environmental (HSE) and quality standards.
This role begins in March 2027 on 4 week rotations. You must have, or be willing to obtain, a Taiwan Visa/Gold card/etc.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on Vestas offshore wind turbines in accordance with OEM procedures and site work instructions.
- Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems; perform component replacement and functional testing.
- The AT Lead small work packs; support major component exchanges (e.g., yaw motors, pitch cylinders, generators) under supervision.
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on offshore wind turbines in accordance with OEM/Operator specifications and site procedures.
- Support with corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Completion of service reports using digital tools and OEM/Operator systems.
- Ensure general housekeeping and cleanliness within WTGs.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Adhere to all HSE standards (GWO, OEM/Operator, and site‑specific)
- Conduct all work activities in line with associated SSOW and task specific RAMS packages
- Complete accurate service reports, NCRs, punch lists, and parts usage in the designated Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g., SAP/OMS).
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, component usage, punch lists, and non‑conformities.
- Exercise Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions or behaviours are observed
- Contribute to a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Work effectively as part of an offshore team to meet availability and production targets.
- Mentor and coach CT technicians; share best practices and technical knowledge.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks, risk assessments, and lift planning activities.
- Coordinate with CTV/SOV crews, marine control, and balance‑of‑plant teams to optimise work windows
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Recognised apprenticeship/technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering (EQF Level 3+ or equivalent).
- Demonstrable offshore wind maintenance and/or construction experience; Vestas platform exposure preferred.
- Valid GWO BST (Working at Height, Sea Survival, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling) and GWO BTT (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic).
- Current offshore medical (e.g., OGUK/ENG1) and fitness assessments (e.g., Chester Step Test/WFA).
- Valid GWO Advanced Rescue
- Valid GWO Enhanced First Aid
- Valid GWO Slinger Signaler
- Valid GWO Crane & Hoist Basic User
- Valid WTSR Core including Vestas MMI
- Valid Vestas TOS (Technical and Operational Safety)
- Valid Vestas SAI (Safety Awareness Induction)
- Valid Vestas Tool Tethering (e-Learning)
- Valid Vestas Fire Prevention Awareness (e-Learning)
Desirable
- Vestas 8-10MW Operation and Maintenance training.
- HV awareness or authorisation pathway (e.g., SAP/AP/CP).
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP/Dynamics 365, preferred but not essential.
- Experience with Quality Management systems, preferred but not essential
