Offshore Wind Turbine Technician – Contract – UK Windfarm
Join a major UK offshore wind project supporting the maintenance and operation of large-scale wind turbines in a safety-critical, technically challenging environment.
You will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of wind turbine generators. Your role will involve carrying out scheduled and corrective maintenance, fault finding, and troubleshooting of turbine systems in line with OEM and site-specific procedures.
You will play a key role in ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, while maintaining clear communication with site teams and supervisors.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on wind turbine generators
- Perform fault finding and troubleshooting across electrical and mechanical systems
- Ensure all work is completed in line with OEM and site-specific procedures
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Complete accurate service reports and maintenance documentation
- Communicate effectively with site teams and supervisors
- Support ongoing turbine reliability and performance improvements
- Participate in offshore operations, including travel to site, working at height, and rota-based activities
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Work in accordance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Ensure safe systems of work are followed at all times
- Use appropriate PPE, tools, and safety equipment
- Report hazards, near misses, and incidents in a timely manner
Skills and Experience:
- Experience working on wind turbine generators, carrying out maintenance and fault finding
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to work effectively in offshore and remote environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good attention to detail with reporting and documentation
- Experience working on Vestas platforms (ideally V164) is desirable but not essential

- GWO Basic Safety Training (BST)
- GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) – Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Bolt Tightening

- Tool Tethering
- Fire Prevention Awareness
- Vestas Bolt Tightening
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work offshore, including rotation/shift patterns
- Comfortable working at height and in offshore conditions
- Ability to travel as required
