OEG are looking for Offshore Wind Turbine Installation Supervisor for leading and overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant installation of wind turbine generators (WTGs) during offshore construction. The role ensures that installation teams follow approved procedures, engineering specifications, OEM requirements, and marine safety rules while coordinating closely with vessel crew, heavy lift teams, and project stakeholders.
This role begins in March 2027 on 4 week rotations. You must have, or be willing to obtain, a Taiwan Visa/Gold card/etc.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation Execution
- Supervise daily offshore turbine installation activities; installation sequencing, torquing, tensioning, electrical terminations, and mechanical alignments.
- Lead a team of technicians supporting safe and efficient lifting operations and WTG component installation
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with OEM installation manuals, engineering drawings, quality standards, and project procedures.
- Monitor progress against installation targets and proactively address delays or technical issues.
- Ensure correct use of calibrated tools and adherence to controlled document packages.
- Perform visual inspections, quality checks, punch-list creation, and defect reporting.
2. Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all HSE standards (GWO, OEM/Operator, and site‑specific)
- Conduct all work activities in line with associated SSOW and task specific RAMS packages
- Complete accurate service reports, NCRs, punch lists, and parts usage in the designated Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g., SAP/OMS).
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, component usage, punch lists, and non‑conformities.
- Exercise Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions or behaviours are observed
- Contribute to a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Verify correct implementation of Permit to Work (PTW), lift plans, isolations, and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
3. Heavy Lift Support
- Work closely with the Heavy Lift Supervisor, Crane Operators, Riggers, and the Appointed Person during turbine component lifts.
- Assess weather limits, vessel motion, turbine access, and SIMOPS before allowing lifts or transfers.
4. Planning & Interface Management
- Attend daily planning meetings and provide project progress updates.
- Coordinate with commissioning teams, HV/LV teams, OEM engineering, client representatives, and marine stakeholders.
- Assist in resolving technical issues by engaging with engineering support or OEM specialists.
- Support handover to commissioning through correct documentation, testing records, and quality acceptance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in offshore Wind Turbine installation or main component exchange; Vestas platform exposure preferred.
- Recognised apprenticeship/technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering (EQF Level 3+ or equivalent).
- Demonstrable offshore wind maintenance and/or construction experience; Vestas platform exposure preferred.
- Valid GWO BST (Working at Height, Sea Survival, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling) and GWO BTT (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic).
- Current offshore medical (e.g., OGUK/ENG1) and fitness assessments (e.g., Chester Step Test/WFA).
