Trainee Marine Coordinator
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Coordinate all vessel and personnel movement within the offshore windfarm construction site with the aid of marine management software.
- Knowledge and understanding of project documentation, such as emergency response plan, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Communicate confidently at all levels to ensure work scopes are carried out efficiently.
- Check and validate the certification of personnel and vessels to ensure they are permitted to work on the wind farm
- Attend the daily planning meetings as required by the project to keep up to date with upcoming works.
- Collect and keep up to date with weather reports, checking the forecast regularly to stay informed on potential bad weather windows.
- Knowledge of marine operations within the offshore industry.
- Daily manifesting of personnel and cargo as per project requirement
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Take reasonable care of yourself and any others who may be affected by your work.
- Cooperate with OEG on all matters relating to HSEQ
- Comply with risk assessments and method statements relevant to your works and to follow the noted control measures
- Report any incidents, observations or near misses
- Take care of all work equipment, do not use nay defective equipment and report defects immediately.
- Wear any necessary PPE as outlined for works being conducted.
- Maintain OEG’s high standards of housekeeping at all times. Quality Responsibilities
Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- This is an entry level position but a maritime background such as CTV master/HMCG etc would be advantageous
- OGUK/OEUK Medical - recommended but not essential
- Chester Step Test - - recommended but not essential
