The role involves working at height and in offshore environments, collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams, mentoring junior technicians, and upholding strict health, safety, environmental (HSE) and quality standards.
- Level Scope:
- WT2: Experienced technician capable of leading routine maintenance, executing complex troubleshooting with guidance, and supporting major component exchanges.
- WT3: Senior technician capable of leading work fronts, executing complex fault diagnosis independently, planning and supervising major component exchanges, and mentoring/coaching others.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on Siemens offshore wind turbines in accordance with OEM procedures and site work instructions.
- Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems; perform component replacement and functional testing.
- WT2: Lead small work packs; support major component exchanges (e.g., yaw motors, pitch cylinders, generators) under supervision.
- WT3: Plan and lead major component exchanges, oversee lift plans and authorisations, and verify reinstatement to service.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Adhere to all HSE standards (GWO, OEM, client, and site‑specific), including Dynamic Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks, and Permit‑to‑Work.
- Ensure compliance with LOLER/PUWER, electrical safety (lock‑out/tag‑out), confined space, and working‑at‑height procedures.
- Complete accurate service reports, NCRs, punch lists, and parts usage in the designated Computerized Maintenance Management System CMMS (e.g., SAP/OMS).
- WT3: Act as a safety role model; lead safety briefings, perform quality checks, and champion continuous improvement.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Work effectively as part of an offshore team to meet availability and production targets.
- Mentor and coach WT1/WT2 technicians; share best practices and technical knowledge.

Planning & Logistics
- Prepare work scopes, tools, parts, and consumables; ensure readiness prior to offshore deployment.
- Contribute to look‑ahead plans, defect prioritisation, and spares forecasts.
- WT3: Lead daily coordination on the SOV, align plans with weather windows, lifting operations, and vessel schedules.

- Valid GWO BST (Working at Height, Sea Survival, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling) and GWO BTT (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic).
- Current offshore medical (e.g., OGUK/ENG1) and fitness assessments (e.g., Chester Step Test/WFA).
- Competence working at height and in confined spaces, with strong troubleshooting capability.
Desirable
- Siemens/SGRE WT2 or WT3 platform training/authorisations (mechanical/electrical/hydraulic, rescue, platform‑specific).
- HV awareness or authorisation pathway (e.g., SAP/AP/CP).
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System CMMS (SAP/OMS), SCADA diagnostics, and digital reporting tools.
- Lifting operations exposure (banksman/slinger) and basic rigging awareness.
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced fault‑finding across electrical and mechanical systems; ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
- Strong safety mindset; consistent application of procedures and permits.
