The Heavy Lift Supervisor is responsible for the safe and effective execution of all heavy lifting operations associated with offshore wind turbine installation, maintenance, and balance‑of‑plant activities. The role ensures strict compliance with LOLER, PUWER, WTSR interfaces, site rules, and marine operational requirements while coordinating lifting teams across platforms, OSS, WTG towers, and vessels.

The Offshore Service Technician WT1 is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on Siemens offshore wind turbines. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of turbine assets while adhering to all HSE, quality, and technical standards. The position requires offshore rotations, working at height, and collaboration with cross‑functional offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities

Turbine Maintenance & Repair

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on Siemens offshore wind turbines in accordance with OEM specifications and site procedures.
• Perform corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Assist with major component exchanges under the direction of senior technicians and site leadership.
• Conduct detailed inspections, fault diagnosis, and completion of service reports using digital tools and Siemens systems.

Operational Support

• Support commissioning activities, testing, and operational readiness for new or upgraded turbines.
• Execute SCADA‑guided resets, functional checks, and performance verifications.
• Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations to supervisors and engineering teams.

Safety, Compliance & Documentation

• Adhere to all offshore safety procedures, including Siemens, client, and site‑specific requirements.
• Comply fully with GWO, IMCA, LOLER, working‑at‑height, and electrical safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, component usage, punch lists, and non‑conformities.
• Ensure all work is carried out in alignment with environmental, regulatory, and quality standards.

Teamwork & Collaboration

• Work as part of an offshore maintenance team to meet turbine availability and production targets.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks, risk assessments, and lift planning activities.
• Provide support to WT2/WT3 technicians and contribute to a positive, safety‑focused work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Recognised technical apprenticeship or qualification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering (EQF Level 3+ or equivalent).
• Valid GWO training standards (BST, BTT preferred).
• Offshore medical certification (e.g., OGUK) and Chester Step Test / WFA Fitness certification.
• Experience working with Siemens wind turbine technologies (SWT, SGRE, or similar platforms).
• Competence working at height, in confined spaces, and within an offshore environment.

Desirable

• Siemens Level 1 / WT1 platform training (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).
• High-voltage switching or HV authorisation pathway.
• Previous offshore wind or large rotating machinery experience.
• Familiarity with SAP, OMS, or other maintenance management systems.

We are supporting a major offshore wind project in UK and are seeking experienced HV Cable Jointers / HV Technicians to join the commissioning phase. Successful candidates will be supplied to our client and embedded within their commissioning team.

This role is suited to technicians with strong offshore HV experience who are comfortable working under Permit‑for‑Work systems and within strict safety rules.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the on‑shift client Commissioning Lead person.
• Take technical direction from the client’s Electrical Safety Specialist when required.
• Carry out HV cable pulling, routing and clipping activities as required.
• Connect HV tower cables into junction boxes within the tower (Pfisterer).
• Terminate HV tower cables onto the converter frame in the nacelle across all WTGs.
• Remove and install HV jumper cables using Pfisterer Seaanex Type 3a systems in line with approved RAMS.
• Route, clip and connect HV dropper cables from WTG switchgear into inner array cable joints at foundation level.
• Erect, inspect, use and dismantle 6.2 m PASMA scaffold towers in accordance with site instructions.
• Erect cable containment from tower to foundation where required.
• Work under a Permit‑for‑Work system, either leading a work party or acting as a competent team member.
• Complete training to become a nominated Competent Person under the Employer’s safety rules.
• Participate in regular offshore emergency and rescue drills.
• Support additional WTG‑related tasks as directed by the client Commissioning Lead person.

Essential Qualifications and Certifications

• Completed electrical apprenticeship, ideally as a Cable Jointer or HV Technician.
• Certification in NKT CB 72–150 and CC 72–1250 T‑boot terminations.
• Certification in Pfisterer Seaanex Type 3a plug‑in operations.
• PASMA Towers for Users (6.2 m).
• GWO Training.
• Wind Turbine Safety Rules – Core Course qualification.

Desirable Experience

• Previously nominated as HV Competent Technician (CT), or Willingness to be nominated as a CT if not currently certified.
• Prior offshore commissioning or major construction project experience.

Work Pattern and Numbers

• 14 / 14 offshore rotation.

Safety, Compliance & Quality 

• Adhere to all HSE standards (GWO, OEM, client, and site‑specific), including Dynamic Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks, and Permit‑to‑Work. 

• Ensure compliance with LOLER/PUWER, electrical safety (lock‑out/tag‑out), confined space, and working‑at‑height procedures. 

• Complete accurate service reports, NCRs, punch lists, and parts usage in the designated Computerized Maintenance Management System CMMS (e.g., SAP/OMS). 

Team Leadership & Collaboration 

• Work effectively as part of an offshore team to meet availability and production targets. 

• Mentor and coach WT1/WT2 technicians; share best practices and technical knowledge. 

• Coordinate with CTV/SOV crews, marine control, and balance‑of‑plant teams to optimise work windows. 

Planning & Logistics 

• Prepare work scopes, tools, parts, and consumables; ensure readiness prior to offshore deployment. 

• Contribute to look‑ahead plans, defect prioritisation, and spares forecasts. 

Qualifications & Experience  

Essential 

• Recognised apprenticeship/technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering (EQF Level 3+ or equivalent). 

• Demonstrable offshore wind (or equivalent heavy industry) maintenance experience; Siemens platform exposure preferred. 

• Valid GWO BST (Working at Height, Sea Survival, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling) and GWO BTT (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic). 

• Current offshore medical (e.g., OGUK/ENG1) and fitness assessments (e.g., Chester Step Test/WFA). 

• Competence working at height and in confined spaces, with strong troubleshooting capability. 

Desirable 

• Siemens/SGRE WT2 platform training/authorisations (mechanical/electrical/hydraulic, rescue, platform‑specific). 

• HV awareness or authorisation pathway (e.g., SAP/AP/CP). 

• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System CMMS (SAP/OMS), SCADA diagnostics, and digital reporting tools. 

• Lifting operations exposure (banksman/slinger) and basic rigging awareness. 

Skills & Competencies
